Professor Aleksandar Subic currently holds the position of Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Research & Development) at Swinburne University of Technology. He is internationally recognised for his research in engineering design and advanced manufacturing, having led numerous global R&D projects in collaboration with industry leading to translational research outcomes and commercial success.

Professor Subic also held the positions of Director and Deputy Chair of the National Aerospace and Aviation Industries Association, Director of SAE-A and Cooperative Research Centres, and Executive Committee member of the Global Engineering Deans Council (GEDC). He served on the ERA National Assessment Committee for Engineering and Environmental Sciences and on the research advisory committees of the Defence Materials Technology Centre and the European Engineering Research Council.

Prior to his Swinburne appointment, Professor Subic was Dean of Engineering and Head of School of Aerospace, Mechanical and Manufacturing Engineering at RMIT. There he led the development of the RMIT Advanced Manufacturing Precinct, which was awarded the 2015 Victorian Manufacturing Hall of Fame International Education Award.
